Enthusiasts Select Busch Gardens as Their Favorite American Amusement Park

Roller-coaster fans flocked to Thrillville’s website to vote

To celebrate its release of Thrillville™ on November 21, LucasArts asked amusement-park aficionados everywhere to visit www.thrillvillegame.com and vote for their favorite parks in the United States. The clear winner: Busch Gardens in Williamsburg, VA and Tampa, FL.

In addition to claiming Best Overall Theme Park honors, Busch Gardens also swept the online survey’s other three categories: Best Roller Coaster, Best Midway Games and Best Hang-Out. Also very popular in the Best Overall category were Kennywood Park in West Mifflin, PA, and Cedar Point in Sandusky, OH.

"We are delighted with the results of the Thrillville poll," said Keith M. Kasen, chairman and president of Busch Entertainment Corp., parent company of Busch Gardens Africa in Tampa, FL, and Busch Gardens Europe in Williamsburg, VA. "We work hard to create the most thrilling attractions and highest quality parks in the world and are gratified when theme park fans give us an endorsement like this. I’m sure that many Thrillville players think SheiKra is the best roller coaster in America now, but wait until we open Griffon at Busch Gardens Europe next spring."

Available for the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system, Xbox video game system from Microsoft, and PSP® (PlayStation®Portable system) and created and developed by LucasArts in conjunction with Frontier Developments, Thrillville allows players to customize their own theme-park creation, interact with guests like never before, and build and hop into their own roller coasters and other rides.

Thrillville lets players race on go-kart tracks they construct, play miniature golf on courses they design, and build roller coasters so high, fast and furious they couldn’t exist in the real world. A multiplayer feature allows up to four friends to play a plethora of minigames, from bumper cars to arcade shoot-‘em-ups. Players can also tour the park on foot – a first for theme-park games – chatting and joking with all the guests to help them out and make sure they’re enjoying themselves.
